Helen Turner, on vocals, from Glasgow, Scotland, has been rated by Classic Rock magazine as being "the real deal". She and Iain Black, on guitar, and also from Scotland, met in London as songwriters, and recorded and toured with various bands, before joining up with drummer Andy Jones, from Manchester, in the Bare Bones Boogie Band.
With that band, they established themselves on the UK blues circuit, were nominated in the British Blues Awards, and released three albums. The last of these, Tattered & Torn, was voted one of the top albums of 2013 by Classic Rock: Blues magazine. Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin was seen at one of their gigs at the time, and the band were given the front cover of Blues in Britain magazine.
Marek Funkas, on bass, completed the Born Healer family in 2015. Originally from Poland, Marek has lived in London for 20 years and played most of his music in the UK. Together the band released their debut album, 'Til the Dawn, in 2016, and are currently promoting this with a second summer tour of the best British blues festivals, and a load of new YouTube videos.
